The turning point

Darkness is now turning towards the light. I”m spending the weekend in seclusion, with high hopes to get out the first draft of my thesis on lucid dreaming before the new year.

 The turning point

Feral Kevin wrote a great post about what the solstice means for him. This really resonates with me:

“This time of year, the winter solstice ” the holiday season ” with so many religious and cultural traditions, is the time to reflect and go inwards. It’s the time to hunker down and become your winter self. It’s the time to celebrate the return of the light. It’s the time to use the abundance in your life to share with others and to help you receive insights into your life.”

Finishing up the thesis during these times is no coicidence. Some of the dreams are now a year old, and I”m seeing them in a new light. Solstice dreams from a year ago have come full circle, transforming from meditations on the past to new hopes for the future. I know I”m being obscure, but I get to do that on threshold days like this. This is eco-dreaming.

So here I go, hunkering down. See you on the other side.

    Ecodreaming indeed!

I sometimes like to dream about plums in this darktime – which ripen in the opposite time of the year — summer solstice. It makes me really appreciate the cycle to have the comparison of the feeling of eating plums off the tree in the baking sun and now when wandering the damp woods looking for Chanterelles and blewitts with the sun setting well before 5. Happy darktime, and happy return of the light.
