There’s been a flurry of interesting articles, events and research news about dream studies recently. Here’s a list of some stories that may have slipped past your radar. enjoy!
Why do we run so slowly in our dreams? This Mashable piece is interesting, but missed the boat I like to call “REM atonia.”
Relatedly, do we dream in slow motion? A controversial lucid dreaming study suggests that dream time is relative.
Was Freud right about dreams? Neuroscientist Mark Solms says penis, I mean, yes. At least when the preservation of sleep is concerned.
World’s Largest Clairvoyance Experiment. Vice Magazine covers the app SHADOW (for which I am a consultant) and the potential for identifying time-stamped keyword spikes in dreams for predicting future events.
Discovery News slams the search for dream telepathy in a rather emotional and unscientific piece that also ignores (ie: is ignorant of) the last 50 years of cognitive dream research.
Everything you ever wanted to know about lucid dream sex (but were afraid to ask). This is a guest post I wrote for World of Lucid Dreaming based on my new ebook BIG DREAMS.
Our dreaming world. Sleep Doc Michael Breus has a new series on dream psychology on Huffpost.

Why dream sharing is important. Great new piece by Dr. Angel Morgan on Huffpost.
How smoking pot affects your dreams and dream recall. It’s not just about short term memory. It’s also about short term memory.

I have had many sleep paralysis dreams. I moved to Texas and though I was more stressed I never once had a crazy dream in the three years that I lived in Texas. Now that I am back in the NorthWest (Oregon) they have started all over again. Maybe there is a bad memory with the North West that I must have blocked out? Who knows but one thing that makes me wonder if I might be crazy is that I encounter unnatural events like seeing electrical flashes or floating light. This vision can also be explained by my baby’s mama. She don’t suffer from it, maybe that is something atmospheric??? Mostly I am concerned about this latest instance which occurred last night.
I heard a musical ringing sound that was inexplicable the day before and I do not overly (Believe in ghosts demons aliens) but I had a feeling by sound etc that it was supernatural. I shook off the supernatural psychosis but I also knew that I was going to have a weird dream very soon.
And sure enough I did. The next night I was brought to consciousness and saw the darker than dark shadows that are consistent with my sleep visions all though this time one was a little taller and fatter? And also this is the first time I felt like I was carried somewhere. (I realize that it is just a nightmare and not real!) but it was so real that I felt my foot hit the door. When my foot hit the door jamb to my bedroom I was very angry by this being done. Then almost as suddenly I awoke with a profound feeling of Peace but not naturally occurring. Almost like I was dropped in bed with no freedom to remain angry. I awoke wondering how I could no longer be infuriated at the object in my dream
THIS LAST PART I DO FIND REALLY, REALLY WEIRD!
Could it all be stress?

What would happen if, before you went to bed, you connected with Creative Energy (theta brain wave), commanded that all entities go to the Light. Watch until they have gone all the way. If they don’t go, ask them their name. They must give you their name. Then say their name and command them to go to the Light now. Watch until they are all absorbed by Light.
Command that your house, your bedroom be downloaded with peace and restfulness. Watch the energy enter your house and bedroom. This is a ThetaHealing technique.
Would you still have that paralytic dream if you did this before going to sleep?
