Dreaming of Archaeology: A New Podcast Interview

By Ryan Hurd

In lieu of actually blogging (sorry, busy days!), here’s the link to a recent invited interview I did with the Archaeology Podcast Network.

1438711607893We talk about how paying attention to dreams can help researchers uncover personal biases as well as reveal potentially useful and creative insights for the scientific process.

As you know, dreams have been instrumental in the history of sciences for many eureka! moments. And archaeology (my own personal experience) is no different.

In this podcast, I start off discussing my pilot study involving the prehistoric rock art in Nicaragua, which involved using lucid dreaming and nature meditation methods to complement traditional archaeological inquiry.

Then the conversation gravitates towards more generally helpful tips for researchers to recall more dreams and incubate dreams that can focus on the creative process.

Here’s the link! You can listen in the browser or download via iTunes.
